Martin Fink
Vice President and General Manager
NonStop Enterprise Division and Open Source & Linux Organization

Martin Fink is the vice president and general manager of the NonStop Enterprise Division and Open Source & Linux Organization. Responsible for leading the overall open source and Linux strategy across HP, Martin has been involved in the Linux movement since 1998. He joined HP in 1985 and spent his first 10 years in field operations in Canada. Fink held a variety of positions in hardware and software support, consulting and telecom sales. In 1995, he moved to HP's Ft. Collins, Colorado, site to work in HP OpenView telecom, where he managed small business startup activities. Fink was the R&D manager for the Verifone Software Business, then held the position of R&D lab manager in the Customer Solutions Organization, with responsibility for HP-UX, Linux and the patch program. Randy Meyer leads the Product Management, Strategy and Technology team for the NonStop Enterprise Division. This team drives the overall strategic direction for the NonStop product family, works with enterprise customers and partners to architect, integrate, and test solutions that take advantage of HP NonStop servers, and provides technical education to field support staff. Martin Edelman
Senior Manager – Store Solutions

Marty Edelman has been involved in the NonStop community since 1976 when he joined Tandem Computers as an account analyst. He worked for Tandem for 7 years before leaving to start a small consultancy firm that specialized in NonStop solutions for 20 years. Edelman's company implemented the UPS Tracking System, worked on the NY Stock Exchange Consolidated Trade and Quote systems, architected the S.W.I.F.T. next generation computing platform, and managed a host of other large mission critical systems before he accepted a fulltime position with The Home Depot.

Marty has been with The Home Depot for two years where he is responsible for in-store and customer-facing systems. This includes Point Of Sale, Gift Card, Check Authorization, Debit Processing, Tax Remittance, Hurricane, and other disaster support systems.

Mikko Saarela

Mikko Saarela is working as senior business consultant at Elisa Corporation, a Finnish telecom operator. Saarela helps corporation’s healthcare and government institutions in developing secure electronic services. Prior to this position Saarela was responsible for joint service and business development with banks and government institutions as a Development Director and Enterprise Director at Elisa Corporation. With over 20 years in ITC services, Saarela is a veteran in secure electronic transaction processing.

Will Cardwell
Chief Executive Officer
Valimo Wireless

Since February 2005, Cardwell has served as CEO of the Finnish security software company Valimo Wireless.

Prior to Valimo, he was a partner in the Finnish VC firm Eqvitec Partners and an investment banker with Eqvitec Advisors. At Eqvitec, he was involved in many landmark technology deals in Finland including the F-Secure IPO, the trade sale of Iobox, and numerous private placements including Solid Information Technology, Digia, Smartner, and Valimo, as well as several mergers. Earlier, he was a lecturer and researcher in finance at the Helsinki School of Economics and at the Helsinki University of Technology.  He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Davidson College (1985) and an MBA for the Helsinki School of Economics (1992). He serves on the boards of PuHu Basketball Club, one of Finland’s premier sports associations and the American Chamber of Commerce in Finland. Cardwell has lived in Finland for the past 10 years and has been married to his wife, Jaana, since 1987. They have three children ages eight to 17.

 

Rich Galloway
Senior Software Engineer – Mail
AOL

Rich Galloway has been a member of the NonStop community since 1985, when he joined the Telemail team at GTE Telenet. After 10 years as a programmer and system manager there he moved to AOL where he was one of the principals involved in rewriting the mailbox system for the NSK platform. Galloway continues to be responsible for the evolution of AOL's mail systems, including the recent migration to the NonStop Integrity servers.
